Devlog 10: first week of polish


Hello friends following along with Devlog, First week of polish is over and i bet you can't wait to hear what we got up to 


Art

Spiced up UI 

a lot of things got added to spice up the UI, the upgrade screen looks sleeker then ever, the team select has some amazing looking icons, we got icons for the player portrait depending on which state the player is in, the control menu looks like....reaaaaaally good now and our menus look amazing thanks to the logo being redesigned in 3D (yes you heard me right, all THREE dimensions) and our animated background. Videos and pictures below !!!!!!!

Complete lighting rework 

you heard that right, the lighting is even prettier now !!!!!!!!! 


Overlay material

the players now have a purple or orange overlay material, to make them more visible



Coding 

Balancing

Thanks to our lovely programmers our ghost spawn in a more balanced manner now



The fog is coming 

when the camera zooms in, fog envelops the stage. This is a very nice visual indication as to where the borders of the stage are 



Reworked lighting 

as said in the Art category, the lighting got a rework all these features are available for your viewing pleasure in the video below !!!!!


Ghost collecting animation

A new amazing animation got added for whenever a player collects a ghost, one of our lovely programmer wanted to turn this video into a gif but he kept running into issues, when asked about it this is what he had to say:

After countless attempts, each more painstaking than the last, I found myself staring at the screen, fingers trembling, jaw clenched, heart heavy. The hours blurred into each other as I wrestled with settings, formats, crashes, and inexplicable errors. Hope would flicker for a moment, just enough to tease me, before being snuffed out by yet another failed export or frozen frame. I poured in time, energy, sanity, and still, the result evaded me like a cruel mirage. And so, with a reluctant breath and a soul worn thin, I did what I never thought I would. I let go. I surrendered. I gave up. Not in defeat, but in exhausted defiance. The gif, that cursed creation, had won this battle. For now.

Sound effects babyyyyy

A lot of sound effects got added:

 - countdown sfx 

 - whenever the camera zooms in there is a sound 

 - footsteps got added 


The main menu music

The main menu music got reworked, and is now more fitting to the vibe of the game.  


Gameplay music works now 

Oh, you can hear the music now? Wow, no big deal, I only sacrificed my free time, mental stability, and possibly a small portion of my soul for that. You're so welcome, no i'm totally not mad at all that this took us over three weeks nope, i'm peachy fine :').
